"5 Minutes of Fame" is an online community where Australian musicians were invited to upload their original MP3 tracks and have their peers download and vote for them. The campaign also consisted of a series of "5 Minutes" stands in Harvey Norman stores around the country where users could burn a free MP3 CD of the top 100 songs on the site at any one time while checking out the latest Philips personal MP3 player products.

The competition went off without a hitch, with over 10 times the expected number of musicians and listeners. The winning band got to play in front of a live audience of industry execs at the closing bash at Fox Studios.
